Tough Chicks: Kristanna Loken – Mortal Kombat Konquest
Kristanna Loken is probably most remembered for playing the title character in the video game turned movie BloodRayne or as the female Terminator in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. I wouldn’t say that either role would win her an Oscar but there is no denying that she had the perfect combination of toughness and sexiness for both roles. My knowledge of Loken’s badassery started back in 1998 when she played Taja in Mortal Kombat: Conquest. For those of you not in the know, MKC was a sweet ass martial arts show designed as a prequel to the story from Mortal Kombat the game/movie. The show only lasted one season but it was filled with great fight choreography and stunt work. Plus, Kristanna Loken in various bra configurations.
Taja (Kristanna Loken) is the former thief with a heart of gold who settles down with our resident good-guys Kung Lao and Siro to run a trading post and help train for the next Mortal Kombat tournament. Along her travels she has picked up many skills which make her very valuable to the team; one such skill being her ability to steal things undetected. Although she no longer steals to fill her own pockets she is sometimes called upon to use her “gift” to get the team out of a pinch. Taja is also a very good fighter. She is not as adept as Kung Lao or Siro, but she more than holds her own in a tussle.
Taja was the only character who wasn’t annoyingly stupid in every episode.
I don’t think the costume budget could afford bras for some of the characters.
Hotness: check. Toughness: check.
