Scene of the Week: Shadow of a Tear Bar Fight
It’s not always easy being a white guy. Just look at how quickly Scott Adkins gets into a fight while minding his own business at a bar in East Asia.
Adkins’ character is all business in Ninja 2: Shadow of a Tear. For those of you have seen the first film in the series, Adkins’ character Casey has gone from the lovable gringo that he was, living in Japan and exceeding all expectations at his ninja school, to now being a vengeance-driven killing machine. Why haven’t any sports franchises used that term as a mascot? Just think of how badass it would look written onto the endzone of a football field. The Cleveland Vengeance-Driven Killing Machines! Not only does it sound great but it would have worked out perfectly for them considering that jabroni took the team from Cleveland and transported them to Baltimore. I digress.
A good bar fight sequence isn’t easy to do. You need to incorporate bar furniture as well as the occasional use of broken bottles and glasses as well. I, myself, would have thrown one guy either head first onto a pinball machine or smacked his head with a couple of pool balls but we can’t always get what we want. Fans of action movies who have yet to see Shadow of a Tear, prepare to have your eyeballs hurt from all the awesomeness!
One of the many amazing fight scenes featuring some new sound and a new edit.
