Damsels: Jesse Deighan – Cliffhanger
Jesse Deighan (Janine Turner) is the heart and soul of the Rocky Mountain Rescue team. In fact, she is the only female employee there and it is because of his love for Jesse that Stallone’s Gabe Walker returns to the team to ask her to leave with him. After Hal Tucker climbs up to rescue some stranded climbers (who turn out to be the villainous robbers), Jesse convinces Gabe to climb up to assist Hal in the rescue. Of course the rescue mission turns into a hunt for stolen millions and Jesse choppers into the area to help Gabe save Hal and stop the assholes who brought them there. In true damsel fashion Jesse manages to get herself captured by the awesomely mad Qualen (John Lithgow) but lucky for her, Stallone’s Walker has had enough and decides to give Qualen a lesson on base jumping…minus the parachute.
In a movie pretty much about “Rambo on ice”, Jesse plays a strong female presence with just enough eye candy, or as much as sub-zero temperatures would allow.
Jesse also gets in on some of the action.
