Scene of the Week: Death Wish V
There is no better way to end Revenge Week here on Bulletproof Action than with a man who made a career off revenge movies… Charles Bronson.
The original Death Wish in 1974 saw its share of copy cat films and sequels over the years. The final Death Wish sequel, Death Wish V: The Face of Death, would be released nearly 20 years after the original.
In Death Wish V Bronson’s character, Paul Kersey, is back in New York. He has managed to find himself another love interest, despite the fact that his past 4 relationships have not ended well. This time around it is fashion designer Olivia Regent (Lesley-Anne Down). Olivia is the ex-wife of New York mobster Tommy O’Shea (Michael Parks). Olivia and Tommy had one child while they were married and things are getting less and less pleasant as Olivia no longer wants their daughter to be around Tommy and Tommy continues to muscle into her fashion business. When you throw Paul Kersey’s romantic track record into the mix, you know it isn’t long before Olivia is going to be dead.
So with a dead fiancée to avenge, Paul Kersey is at it one more time!
After being a vigilante off and on for two decades, one has to imagine just shooting scum bags loses its luster. So from time to time Kersey uses other methods for those foolish enough to make a death wish. His most unique weapon of choice, a remote control soccer ball as you will see in this week’s Scene of the Week. His target is O’Shea’s security paranoid hit man, Freddie Flakes. He got that nickname due to a chronic dandruff problem.
I must warn you this clip is NSFW due to some nudity (no Charles Bronson does not get naked). This one is definitely “a treat” as Bronson so eloquently puts it in this clip…
