Scene of the Week: Go Ahead Make My Day
On May 31st, 1930, future action icon, Clint Eastwood was born in San Francisco, California.
Eastwood’s first big break was on the TV western, Rawhide. But it was a trilogy of Spaghetti Westerns, A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly that made Eastwood a star the world over.
A multitude of actors have played cowboys at some point in their career, but only Clint Eastwood could be Dirty Harry Callahan.
In honor of Mr. Eastwood’s 85th Birthday, I wanted to select a scene from one of the Dirty Harry movies. With five different movies and so many memorable moments, selecting one scene might be difficult for some. For me the selection was easy, it is a scene I spoke of in the Hall of Fame piece I wrote on Dirty Harry Callahan last December.
In this week’s Scene of the Week, Dirty Harry is going about his usual morning routine, but something is not quite right. And that something leads to one of the most memorable movie quotes in history…
Happy Birthday Clint! Thanks for making our day.
