Scene of the Week: Remo meets Chiun
Friendships are a unique thing.
Some can start instantly with two people clicking from the word “go” and becoming fast friends. Other times two people can have an adversarial relationship before it evolves into a friendship over time.
The latter would describe the dynamic between Remo Williams and Chiun, two of the key characters in the film, Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins…
In this week’s Scene of the Week, we get to see the tumultuous start of the relationship between Remo Williams and the man who would go on to train him in the art of Sinanju, Chiun. Taking this scene out of context, it may be hard to believe the two end up with a father/son like bond by the end of the film.
This scene is the audience’s and Remo Williams’ (Fred Ward) first impression of Chiun (Cleveland’s own Joel Grey). A unique character who is not only “The Master of Sinanju” but pretty quick with an insult too.
And speaking of Sinanju, this scene will also gives us a glimpse at some of the amazing things a human is capable of once they master the art of Sinanju.
