Woman Crush Wednesday: Sharon Stone – The Specialist
For about twenty years there was no sexier woman in cinema than Sharon Stone. From her legs crossing scene in Basic Instinct to her double the hotness 1995 hits Casino and The Quick or The Dead, Sharon’s blonde bombshell looks dominated box offices and men’s hearts simultaneously.
In The Specialist, Stone uses her seductive skills to get veteran bomb maker Ray Quick to help her take out the mafia responsible for the death of her husband. Stone, who was 36 during filming, was playing a woman in her early twenties. Only a woman as beautiful as Sharon could pull off such a feat.
Stallone was in a weird period of his career. Rambo and Rocky had ended (only to be brought back later) and he had a series of mediocre films over a several year period. The Specialist could have been a very different movie. Steven Seagal was once intent on being the director/star and later David Fincher was nearly directing with Stallone in the starring role.
Stone has long been a woman after my own heart. Total Recall was the first film I can remember her being insanely hot but looking back it was the Alan Quartermain films where she first brightened up the action screens.
