Scene of the Week: The Night The Giggler Died
Today marks the 30th Anniversary of the release of what I honestly believe is the greatest movie of all time, Death Wish 3.
In Death Wish 3, Paul Kersey (Charles Bronson) is back in New York after leaving town at the end of the first Death Wish film that was released more than 11 years prior to the release of the third installment. Kersey is there to visit an old friend he served with during the Korean Conflict, but ends up waging war against a gang of face painted criminals.
With this milestone anniversary in mind, I knew this week’s Scene of the Week had to be a memorable moment from this Charles Bronson classic. Death Wish 3 has no shortage of memorable moments, narrowing it down to one was going to be a challenge. But I made the tough decision and I’ve selected for your viewing pleasure one of Bronson’s most memorable kills (Bronson chalks up an amazing 52 kills in Death Wish 3). This particular kill was #7 on my list of Essential Bronson Kills. Paul Kersey demonstrates the true power of his Wildey Magnum as he takes out one of the more colorful characters in the gang, a man known as The Giggler. The Giggler can really move and he laughs when he runs (hence the nickname). But is he faster than a speeding bullet??
Don’t fuck with Charles Bronson !!
If only more movie bad guys realized that we’d have a lot less movie deaths.
