Tough Chicks: Rachel Nichols
Those of you who have read an earlier edition of Tough Chicks, or any Woman Crush Wednesday post, for that matter, should know that I tend to gravitate towards writing about actresses who I have seen recently in excellent action pieces or women who have really ‘moved my meter’. Ms. Nichols has fulfilled both criteria as not only is she the star of the cool-as-hell sci-fi show Continuum, but she is also the owner of one of the hottest bodies to ever travel through time. What are the chances I could convince her that my genitals held the secrets to successful time travel? I think it’s worth a try.
To say that I’m an expert on Continuum would be a straight up lie. I am, however, an expert on what makes a kickass heroine and Rachal Nichols’ Kiera Cameron has many of the characteristics needed to make her one of the best future babes on TV. Time traveling terrorist killer is what I wrote on my son’s “What I want to be when I grow up” form but I think it’s safe to say that Nichols is the next best thing and I’m more than happy to watch her do her thing.
Developing a successful science fiction franchise isn’t an easy thing. So many shows have been cancelled after just a few episodes that any show lasting beyond 3 seasons has to be considered a massive accomplishment. In a perfect world, Nichols would have been in the second G.I. Joe film, but at least we got to see Channing Tatum get killed. The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh.
