Woman Crush Wednesday: Daisy Ridley
What’s better than May 4th? Duh, May 11th!
I bet you’re wondering why I didn’t post this on May 4th, Star Wars Day. Well, I totally forgot that was happening so keep your judgement to yourself.
Daisy Ridley is the 24 year old cutie who recently became one of the most recognizable women on Planet Earth after starring in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Where did she even come from? Her IMDB page says that she was born in London in 1992, and despite that explaining a great deal as to why she seemingly flew under the radar for us Americans, it also reminds me that she is far younger than I and slightly more famous.
Daisy’s new character, Rey, joins the old crew from the original Star Wars trilogy to fight against what can best be described as ‘fake Vader’ and ‘almost Empire’. Truth be told, I had a great time watching The Force Awakens. I don’t think it was a particularly great movie but it was so effective in its simplicity. You could tell that Abrams is a fan of the originals because he pretty much took the story from it and remade it with a new cast. Ridley really reminds of me of Keira Knightly. Maybe it’s because she’s British, or because she’s a skinny cute broad, or maybe it’s her delivery of lines that makes me think of the lovely KK.
Ridley’s Rey is arguably the best character in the new film, and the movie ends with her in a very amazing place. I won’t spoil it for you but it simultaneously gave millions of fanboys teeny tiny boners as the movie faded to black and the credits appeared. Let’s hope that their Stormtrooper armor hid their excitement.
Oh, and she’s got a nice little booty…
