Scene of the Week: Meat Loaf Action
What is the greatest Indiana Jones-inspired music video of all time? You’re about to find out!
I hate the food meat loaf. Very few food items can even pull off the ‘loaf’ shape. Bread is the easy one but other than that there aren’t many foods that sound appetizing in loaf form. When it comes to music, however, Meat Loaf f*cking rocks!
The man known as Meat Loaf is probably most well known for hits like “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” or “I’d do anything for Love” but one of my favorite from the Rock Opera singer is the jam “I’d Lie For You (and that’s the truth)”. The song alone isn’t a masterpiece but the release of the video back in the day made me long to see the morbidly obese singer turned adventurer get a movie or television show of his own.
If I haven’t lost you already then you need to settle in and check out this music video from a time when MTV actually played music videos. Does Meat Loaf look like the dashing Harrison Ford, always saying the right things and knocking out the bad guys with one punch? Nope, but he rides a motorcycle and wears a kickass leather jacket. A surprisingly erotic sex scene, some strange Demon Ark shit and a double cross later and our unlikely hero shows up to pick up the scraps like that frat guy at the party who always bangs the drunkest chick in the room. Most importantly, though, The Loaf’s heroics are fueled by love. And love conquers all, bitches.
