Scene of the Week: When Toys Attack!
The car chase has been a staple of action movies and television series for decades now. So to say it is no easy task making a car chase stand out from the pack would be an understatement. But one movie that managed to showcase a most unique car chase would be 1988’s The Dead Pool.
The fifth and final film in Clint Eastwood’s Dirty Harry franchise, The Dead Pool focuses on a serial killer murdering local Bay Area celebrities. The movie not only features Eastwood in his iconic role, but also Liam Neeson, Patricia Clarkson and Jim Carey lip synching to the Guns ‘N Roses classic, “Welcome to the Jungle”.
After Dirty Harry puts away a powerful gangster, he becomes the poster boy for the San Francisco Police Department and a target for the serial killer. Unfortunately Harry Callahan’s new partner, Al Quan (Evan C. Kim), finds himself in the danger zone due to his association with Dirty Harry as is evident in our Scene of the Week. Fasten your seat belt and watch as Detectives Callahan and Quan get into an explosive car chase with a remote control car!
