Scene of the Week: Tyrion and Bronn vs the Hill Tribes
After the passing of legendary actor Adam West, I started to think about different dynamic duos of film and television. The HBO series Game of Thrones isn’t for everyone. There is a ton of violence, nudity, British accents, and can be pretty slow at times, but I have become a massive fan of the series and can’t get enough of the source material.
The MVP of the first few seasons had to be Tyrion Lannister. Played by the hilarious and talented Peter Dinklage. The youngest son Tywin Lannister, the richest man in all the Kingdoms, Tyrion finds himself on a rollercoaster ride of success and failures over the course of the series. It’s no more apparent than in the first season when he finds himself a prisoner of Lady Stark on their way to his trial for murder. He didn’t do it, of course, but it forces Tyrion to make friends in the lowest of places and we get the duo of Tyrion and the sell sword Bronn.
The scene below shows their initial meeting and confrontation with the Hill Tribes of the Vale. You can already see the beginnings of the relationship that would continue to grow throughout the first few seasons as the two men realize how much each of them have in common. Most of what they have in common includes drinking, money, and whores, but that’s neither here nor there.
