Scene of the Week: Diplomatic Immunity

There is an old saying about going to the well once too often. Joss Ackland’s character Arjen Rudd in Lethal Weapon 2 learned that old saying was true and he learned it the hard way.

The sequel to the hugely successful Lethal Weapon premiered on July 7, 1989 with Mel Gibson and Danny Glover returning as Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh respectively. In Lethal Weapon 2, Riggs and Murtaugh tangle with South African diplomats who use (and abuse) their diplomatic immunity to partake in criminal activities.

This week’s Scene of the Week takes a look at the action packed finale of Lethal Weapon 2 with Riggs embroiled in a fight to the death and Murtaugh revoking Arjen Rudd’s diplomatic immunity…
