Scene of the Week: X2 – Nightcrawler Attacks the President
X2 might still be the best X-Men movie ever made. It introduced some new characters and gave us some really cool action scenes where Wolverine stabs some dudes, Pyro sets some shit on fire, and Nightcrawler infiltrates the White House and nearly stabs the POTUS. If he did that today the left-wing media might label him a hero but I wouldn’t be surprised if the current administration had installed some sort of anti-teleportation devices after seeing this scene.
Nightcrawler has always been one of the weaker members of the X-Men. Or at least that is what I was led to believe. X-Men 2 shakes it up a bit by showing the little blue guy poofing his way around the White House and beating the crap out of all those Secret Service guys who must have been a little off on their mutant fighting training. The scene is so excellently filmed that it totally made me aware of just how cool those powers could be in a fight. No matter how bad some of those FOX movies were, there were definitely some killer fight scenes. This one included…
