Scene of the Week: Die Hard 2 – Skywalk Shootout
Safety should always be the number one priority on a construction scene. I’ve worked in the industry enough to know that safety inspectors will be all up in your asses if things are not as they should be. That especially goes when working on a scaffolding. Is there proper distance in the space for the lift? Does the person working on it have a harness that is fitted to them? Are they even tied off? These are only a few of the considerations when attempting to work at elevation. Even villains need to prioritize safety more….just sayin’.
Poor John McClane. The man has some of the worst luck of anyone in film history. Maybe the Brody family from Jaws has it worst when it comes to sharks but McClane can’t seem to catch a break. I would recommend that he move out into the middle of nowhere but he would mostly likely be abducted by aliens or something and be forced to save the world from invasion. Die Hard 2 is one of the few sequels that almost live up to the original. It brings our favorite everyman hero back into the thick of things at Dulles International Airport as some rogue operatives attempt to break out their buddy. In the scene below, John is busy showing just how important safety is on a job site while also laying down a bit of McClane justice.
