Scene of the Week: No Retreat, No Surrender Training Montage
There are certain types of scenes that lend themselves to be Scene of the Week material.
- Scenes involving vehicular mayhem are a personal favorite.
- Fight scenes showcasing a variety of combat styles.
- Shootouts are always fun.
- And last but not least… the training montage!
No Retreat, No Surrender has some one of a kind training montages as our hero Jason Stillwell (Kurt McKinney) prepares to battle Ivan the Russian (Jean-Claude Van Damme)… Jason actually trains with the Ghost of Bruce Lee at one point in the film. When Jason isn’t getting help from beyond the grave, his buddy R.J. (J.W. Fails) is there to help him build his core strength by sitting on Jason’s crotch, listening to his tunes and eating some ice cream while Jason does pelvic thrusts… if you think I am making that last part up, you should probably watch this week’s Scene of the Week.
