Bullet Points: El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie
Breaking Bad is regarded by most as one of the greatest television series ever. It never Jumped the Shark. It ended almost perfectly. The only question left unanswered: What happened to Jesse Pinkman after he drove off in the El Camino? Well, lets find out with some BPA Bullet Points.
- Yo 148, 3-to-the-3-to-the-6-to-the-9. Representin’ the ABQ. What up, biatch? Leave it at the tone: Now is not the right time to call Jesse. He is preoccupied. He just escaped the crazy lunatics that were holding him as their personal slave. El Camino takes place right after the events in the series finale of Breaking Bad.
- What good is being an outlaw when you have responsibilities: You know what is super smart about El Camino? The fake out trailer released by Netflix. Ha! There’s no scene with the cops questioning Skinny Pete, but Jesse is on the run for his life. It seems like all the dots have been connected after Walter White’s carnage of destruction. Jesse does go and see his friends Pete and Badger, and I’ll say this about Pete: How did he get so smart? Pete is probably the smartest character in the whole movie. I guess drugs impact people differently.
- Yeah Mr. White! You really do have a plan! Yeah Science: The entire movie consists of Jesse trying to get away. Does he have a plan? Well, he just rolls with it. Vince Gilligan uses the flashback brilliantly to help Jesse’s narrative along. Vince found a way to get a lot of people who have already gone to Heaven into this Breaking Bad sequel. The characters aren’t just there to say: Hey I am in the sequel too, bitch. But they contribute to the flow of the story and help Jesse maybe make the right decisions along the way. I don’t want to spoil, but Creepy Todd shows up, and his scenes are great. You remember Todd from Season 5? He was such a sociopath, and he stays in form during the flashback scenes with Jesse. Sure, he is a little bit heavier now, but who cares? The Netflix camera adds a few pounds to you, right?
- Are we in the meth business or the money business: I’m sure you want to know about the action? There’s not a lot. This movie focuses on Jesse’s aftermath of the pure Hell he experienced. However, we do get a couple of thrilling and tense action scenes and of course they involve money and maybe even some revenge. Jesse is a fighter. He is not going to go out without swinging. Has he been broken so bad he can’t bounce back? I guess you will have to watch and find out.
- You either run from things, or face them, Mr. White: Boom! That’s what it is all about. Can Jesse afford to stay? It seems like he is in some serious trouble. He is probably facing close to a lifetime in prison. How does Jesse get out of this situation? Does he get out? Hell, I’m not telling you. But I will say it was great revisiting a character I honestly thought I would never see again. Jesse was the glue which held Breaking Bad together. He was and will always be my favorite from the show. If you’re a Breaking Bad fan, this is can’t miss Netflix.
Bitch, you honestly thought I would forget BPA Bonus Bullet Points!
- Bitch: I had my bitch count on. I thought I would have to use my fingers, toes and then some. However, I only heard “Bitch” maybe 4 times. I don’t think it was even said by Jesse.
- If he said he called the cops, take him for his word: If you’re ever in a situation and someone tells you they called the cops, don’t call their bluff, run like the wind.
- Yeah, bitch! Magnets: I had to do at least one more Jesse Pinkman quote. If you like Jesse Pinkman quotes, then El Camino is definitely the movie for you.
