Hall of Fame: Cordell Walker
In the Eyes of a Ranger, the unsuspecting stranger had better know the truth of wrong from right…
Cordell Walker, a descendant of the legendary Texas Ranger, Hayes Cooper, burst onto the airwaves on April 21, 1993. Some highlights of this first episode include: Walker’s partner being killed in a daring bank robbery, the fact Walker drives his truck down to Mexico and single-handedly starts and finishes a bar fight, and he also gets a new partner, Ranger James Trivette. They are as different as night and day, but they put their differences aside, and figure out the bank robbery which killed Walker’s former partner, was part of a more daring scheme: A test to see if you could rob four banks at the same time. Of course, Walker saves the day, and he also finds time during this episode to help a young circus acrobat, who was assaulted by three thugs. Not only does Walker kick the snot out of the thugs, he also protects two Russian jugglers in the process. Yes, this is Walker, Texas Ranger!
It is my honor to do this post for Bulletproof Action. This is my first Hall of Fame induction speech. If Cordell Walker was up here, who would he thank? He would first thank God and the Great State of Texas. Then, he might thank Chuck Norris, since they are doppelgängers. However, only one of them sells the Total Gym Workout. Of course, he would thank his wife, Alexandra Cahill-Walker. She’s a district attorney out of Dallas, and the mother of his daughter, Angela. Now, the big question: Is she dead or alive? Unfortunately, after Walker ended, there was a TV movie which had her being shot in the cliffhanger. Tell me in the comments if you think she’s dead or alive. I think he would then go into his childhood, and thank his Uncle Ray Firewalker. Uncle Ray raised Walker on an Indian Reservation after Walker’s parents were murdered. Young Walker witnessed the murder of his parents, and like Batman, grew up to fight crime. Walker didn’t wear a mask, but he did wear a cowboy hat. Next, of course it would be his partner, Ranger Trivette. I’m sure he would joke with Trivette about how many times Walker saved his life and how much better Walker looks in a cowboy hat. He wouldn’t forget Gage and Cooke. They’re two Rangers who joined his team later on, and actually added to the story. Maybe, it was due to the fact Cooke looked so damn fine. Like Nia Peeples fine. He would definitely thank Dodge Ram trucks. Walker drove the hell out of some Dodge Ram trucks, and burned a lot of gasoline in the process. He would definitely throw a shoutout to the Marshall Teague, and I think the biggest Walker fans know why. However, he would save the most sincere part of his speech for his mentor, C.D. Parker. The memories of CD’s Bar and Grill. The fact C.D. is a member of the Rangers Hall of Fame and how Walker avenged C.D.’s death. It was first believed C.D. had a heart attack, but it was later revealed to be ricin poisoning. I love you, Big Dog. Wait, I’m not sure if Walker would say that, I think I’m getting too emotional in this Hall of Fame speech.
What more can you say about Ranger Cordell Walker? A man who knows wrong from right. A man whose heart never knows danger. A man who can sing the living hell out of a theme song. A man who can karate chop your ass without messing up his cowboy hat. A living legend. And now, an official member of the Bulletproof Action Hall of Fame. It is my honor, to induct Walker, Texas Ranger into the Bulletproof Action Hall of Fame!
