Bullet Points: Strike Back: Vendetta (Part 1)
Strike Back is coming to an end. What a run! I know there are a lot of Scott and Stonebridge fans who refuse to watch the new team. I was once in your shoes. I didn’t watch the new team for almost two years. But, one day, I gave them a chance, and I’m so glad I did. Now, I’ll be covering the final season episode by episode for Bulletproof Action. I don’t like to spoil in my reviews, so I encourage you all to read and then watch.
- What’s the theme of the the final season?: I believe we will see what lines the team aka Section 20 will be willing to cross. We get a hint of what’s to come early in the episode when the team goes on a rescue mission, but it really isn’t a hostage rescue, but a kill mission. Only 20’s leader, Col. Alexander Coltrane (Jamie Bamber) knows the orders are to kill the hostage. We learn this term is known as an 1233 order. Basically, a license to kill civilians. Does the team follow through? You must watch to see, but no matter what, there’s fallback from this scene. The season is also known as Strike Back: Vendetta. So, that must mean an all out war is coming.
- How is the rest of the team doing?: Last season was a first. The first season not to kill off a major character. Strike Back has never been afraid to kill main characters. This season, Mac (Warren Brown) has just challenged his boss’ kill order, and instead of getting punished, he gets recommended for officer school. Wyatt (Daniel MacPherson) has the beard looking bushy. He doesn’t do a lot this episode, so we will have to wait and see. I’m sure I’ll have a lot to write about him later in the season. Novin (Alin Sumarwata) is looking fine as hell. However, she makes a mistake in the field, that I believe will haunt her for most of the season. Chetri (Varada Sethu) is doing computer stuff. She’s the tech person, and she grows on me, more and more after each episode. I would love to see her get some romance this season. Sadly, no sign of Zarkova (Yasemin Kay Allen). She might’ve been written out of the show. Strike Back has a habit of writing out characters, and forgetting to mention them again. However, we might see her again.
- Any guest stars or bad guys that should get you excited?: I’m pretty sure the team is going to go to war with the Albanian Mafia. One actress caught my eye, Ivana Milicevic from Banshee, plays the mother in the mafia family. I look for her role to grow as the season progresses.
- What are the bad guys trying to do?: I think we will have a pursuit for bio-weapons, which will lead to a lot of battles. We already have a crazy shootout on the streets of Venice, Italy, and a hospital shootout that ends with a surprising revelation.
- I’m sorry to report: No one got naked. There really wasn’t any time this episode. It flew by, and I blinked and the episode was over. However, judging from the awesome opening with the coolest theme music ever, mixed with the raddest main title design, you know the pictures during the theme music, we will have plenty of hot sexy time!
- This Week’s MVP: Each episode gets an MVP, and this one goes to Col. Coltrane. He dominates the episode, and we learn some of his backstory. Section 20 leaders never live to be old, but I’m praying he survives the season.
Are you excited for Strike Back? I’ll admit this wasn’t the best episode I’ve seen, but it still is a promising beginning to the final chapter.
