Bullet Points: Strike Back: Vendetta (Part 2)
Strike Back continues on, and I’ll be your guide through this exciting episode. Buckle up, because it is going to be a wild ride.
- To get you caught up: Section 20’s assignment is to locate and destroy a bio-weapon. It is believed an Albanian Mafia family will be selling the weapon to some jihad terrorists. The team is in pursuit, and they’ve already chased the weapon through the streets of Venice, Italy. Now, they’re in Albania, waiting to get their chance to destroy the weapon of mass destruction.
- The Big Bang: The opening of the episode will catch you off guard. A party at the Demachi family’s mansion (The Albanian Mafia family) ends in bloodshed. The best way to describe without giving away too much would be to label it: Forbidden love ends in blood. Pretend you’re a Macho Mafia Boss and you catch your son doing something you don’t consider macho. You don’t blame your son, you look for a scapegoat.
- Cheetah Club: Due to the incident in the opening, the team believes they can get the son, Loric (Maxim Baldry) to turn on his father, Edon (Goran Bogdan). All they have to do is corner him in the Gentlemen’s Club he manages, the Cheetah Club. Yes! Strippers! Of course, we have chaos, and Wyatt (Daniel MacPherson) even finds time to have sex with a stripper. This is a running gag throughout the last few seasons: Wyatt having sex in the most awkward of moments. He even has a “I’m coming” line that’s Strike Back to the core. Another Strike Back trademark is the fight / shootout that starts in a strip club and ends in a meat packing plant. Wyatt even gets attacked by a meat cutting chainsaw. A totally bonkers opening!
- Mobsters Need Money Too: The Demachi’s are broke. They owe 8 million dollars, but Daddy Edon knows math, and he figures he can sell the bio-weapon for 10 million, and still have 2 million left in the bank. There’s also a big family wedding planned. Loric is set to marry the daughter of the Big Boss of the entire Albanian Mafia. However, the Big Boss calls off the wedding due to the unstableness of the Demachi’s. But wait, Mama Arianna Demachi, (Ivana Milicevic) makes a power move that shows the viewing audience who really wears the pants in the family. This is a “No Turning Back” moment in the episode.
- The Train to Kaboom: Fighting on a train is always fun. There’s an exchange between terrorists, and a gunfight afterwards. Section 20 is caught up in the middle of the fight. Something big also blows up. Hell, it is Strike Back. After the big kaboom, Daddy Edon has an encounter in a farmhouse with Mac, (Warren Brown) and this fight will have a lasting impact that I believe will carry on until the final episode.
Now it is time for me to give my declassification report for the episode.
- Do we have any nudity? Perhaps, a brief shot at the strip club. For Strike Back, we should’ve had a bit more. Remember, it is Strike Back, we expect lots of nakedness.
- Favorite quote? The stripper Wyatt is banging thinks he says “Shits in the Wind” when he actually says “Ships in the Wind.”
- What about Mac becoming an officer? He said yes, so we shall see.
- Is Novin still thinking about the innocent civilian she accidentally killed in the previous episode? I witnessed zero side effects. She was her normal badass self, and looked cool as hell in her disguise at the strip club. This is Strike Back, and sometimes characters forget stuff very easily.
- Do Chetri’s computer skills come in handy? That would be a Hell Yes.
- Is Col. Coltrane still alive? Yes! We still have a leader of Section 20. Only 8 more episodes to go.
- Did we learn anything new? One name for the readers: Zayef. It is Strike Back, and of course, there’s always some mysterious person hiding in the shadows ready to make an epic entrance. This Zayef is our big mystery. There’s way more to the plot than the bio-weapon. This is only the beginning.
Another strong episode. The season is off to a great start.
- And the MVP goes to: Arianna Demachi. Yes! Mama Demachi. A bad guy. Not a member of the team. She’s that good this episode. All of her actions are MVP worthy. The final scene is a funeral for someone. She starts a blood feud with her eyes. Remember, the theme of the season is vengeance. Can this be what the show will be about? The Demachi’s going after Section 20 until no one is left? I guess you will have to tune in next week and find out.
