Bullet Points: Strike Back: Vendetta (Part 3)
Strike Back keeps moving on, and I’ll be your guide once again. What trouble will Section 20 get into this week?
- To Catch You Up: When we last left our team, the Albanian Mafia had declared a blood war on them, and the bio-weapon they’ve been chasing, proved to be only the beginning of what is to come, as the weapon got destroyed, and the bad guys got away.
- New Angle: It is Strike Back, so sometimes plot lines change on a dime. There’s no talk of the Albanian Mafia, and the episode starts in Russia, as some scientist fella steals another weapon of mass destruction or something big like that. Where does he go? To Tel Aviv, Israel to meet up with the terrorist looking bad guys from the previous episode. However, this meeting is interrupted.
- Hello, Blondie: Strike Back surprises us this week by bringing back Katrina Zarkova. (Yasemin Kay Allen) I had pointed out in a previous review that she was nowhere to be found, after being a major player last season. The obvious clue she would be on this episode is the opening scene in Russia. When Russia needs a mission accomplished, they tend to go to Zarkova. She’s in a fun little motorcycle chase with Wyatt that ends in a humorous team reunion. Zarkova’s character is complex and well written. You’re still not sure what her endgame is. The only thing obvious is her sexual chemistry with Col. Coltrane. Hopefully, we get some action before this all plays out.
- Surprising Secondary Characters: Once again, Strike Back surprises me this week. There’s significant screen time given to a Taxi Driver and a Young Cop. The Taxi fella looks to play a major part in the newest bio-weapon, as he steals it from the Russian scientist, and the cop is befriend by Mac, and is still around as the episode ends. I doubt they live through next week, but you never know. This is Strike Back.
- The Cliffhanger: The team goes undercover to a house party, and Chetri even gets to play dress up. However, the mission isn’t accomplished, as the episode ends on a cliffhanger and with the team in jeopardy. Coltrane, Novin, Chetri and Zarkova are about to have to fight a gang of party crashers. While Mac and Wyatt find themselves in the middle of a gunfight with the two terrorist bad guys I talked about in the beginning. I guess we will have to wait until next week, to see how this all plays out.
Yay! Now it is time for me to give my declassification report for the episode.
- Who gets naked?: No one. Boo! Let’s change this real soon.
- Favorite quote?: You’re still alive? (Zarkova’s reaction to Chetri still being around since computer people never last too long on Strike Back.)
- Does Wyatt wear a cool looking Hawaiian shirt?: Yes! He wouldn’t be Wyatt if he didn’t.
- Exactly, how many languages does Novin understand?: No clue, but I now know she understands Hebrew.
- Did we learn anything new?: We learned we have no idea where the series is headed. I thought it was going to be about the Albanian Mafia, but they were nowhere to be found. We also learned some big weapon actually exists, and is not a myth.
I wasn’t expecting this type of episode. It was great to see Zarkova, but I’m not sure if she’s here until the end. There’s action, but not anything too crazy. I feel next week will be huge.
- And the MVP Goes To: Zarkova in a landslide. She dominates the entire episode.
Did you know? Although it is described as as Tel Aviv, nothing in this episode is actually Israeli? The vanues, the cars, the stores and basically everything there wasn’t shot in Israel. Seems like east Europe probably.
It is filmed somewhere in Eastern Europe where it is cheap to film. It is in the credits, I just forgot exactly where. Kinda like a lot of tv shows that are in filmed in Almost USA, Canada
I appreciate the comment. Hope you’re enjoying the season
