Scene of the Week: “He Thinks He’s Bruce Lee”

There was a time when Bruce Lee clone movies were consistently getting released with the likes of Bruce Le and Bruce Li among others. I have started to watch some of those movies thanks to the top notch suggestions of Bulletproof Action, but the very first Bruce Lee clone I saw is not the first person you would think of.  The Man of 10,000 Sound Effects was actually the movie I saw with someone imitating Bruce Lee. OK, it is actually some criminals who think Michael Winslow’s Larvell Jones is imitating the Jeet Kune Do master as he is stopping the crime.

Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment is a worthy sequel to the original mainly because it has many of the likable characters from the original. Michael Winslow is truly a magician when it comes to sound effects and he shows he can hold his own in a dustup in this week’s Scene of the Week. Just remember to focus on the fight, the man made sound effects and ignore the racial stereotyping.
