Alexander Nevsky Talks Red Prophecies
Over the years, Bulletproof Action has interviewed Alexander Nevsky more times than we have any other member of the action movie community. One of the big reasons for that is because Alexander Nevsky is just like the staff of Bulletproof Action and a large portion of our audience… he is a huge action movie fan.
We shared some news last week on Alexander’s latest movie Red Prophecies and I had the good fortune of being able to ask Alexander some questions about his new action thriller and more…
CTB: 2020 has been a challenging year to say the least, how have you been keeping busy and keeping sane in these unprecedented times?
AN: First of all, it’s nice to be back to Bulletproof Action, thank you for your continued support! It is a tough and strange year indeed but I am a fighter. I think that it doesn’t matter how hard life is pushing you, the only thing that does matter – how hard you can push back. So I was training a lot (5 times a week with weights, 7 times a week – cardio), working on new films and my first English language book.
CTB: The movie business has been severely impacted by COVID 19, so when the news broke earlier this month that your next film Red Prophecies is set to release early next year, it was music to my ears. Why should action fans be pumped for Red Prophecies?
AN: It is an action thriller, with a lot of suspense in it. We shot this film in Moscow and in LA, you’ll see big production value on screen. It’s also very timely because it’s about good guys (American and Russian) trying to prevent big international political crisis.
CTB: Red Prophecies was your first chance to work with action movie veterans Michael Madsen, Stephen Baldwin and Oded Fehr. What was it like working with these three talented individuals?
AN: I’m a big fan of Michael, Stephen and Oded and working with them was a pleasure. We didn’t have scenes together unfortunately but, as a producer, I made sure they had meaningful parts in a film.
CTB: One of the interesting things you mentioned in the Red Prophecies press release is that your character in the movie is an American and Casper Van Dien’s character is a Russian. Who came up with this out of the box idea? And do you think Casper was a believable Russian?
AN: Casper is my friend and he is a great actor. He was very believable as a heroic FSB officer. It was my co-producer Alexander Izotov’s idea to invite Van Dien for this role and I was happy to support it.
CTB: I know I asked you this in a previous interview, but have any plans been made for you and Casper to reunite for a Showdown in Manila sequel?
AN: Yes, we still want to do it! But world and movie business have changed dramatically already. So my plan is to do it step by step: I’ll release Red Prophecies first and think about my next movie project after that.
CTB: You mentioned writing a book earlier, can you tell us more about that?
AN: It is called “FROM ZERO TO HERO: My transformation from a Nerd to Mr. Universe and a Movie Star and how You can do it too!” and it will be published in North America in 2021. I hope it helps people to fight for their dreams harder because if I was able to change my life – everyone can do it too!
CTB: Best of luck to you Alexander on Red Prophecies and your book in 2021. I am looking forward to both. As always thank you for taking the time for this interview. And for the fans of Bulletproof Action, here is an exclusive Red Prophecies teaser from our friend and fellow action fanatic Alexander Nevsky…
