Scene of the Week: Yes, Madam!

If you were going to make a list of female trailblazers in the world of action entertainment, that list damn sure better include the names Cynthia Rothrock and Michelle Yeoh.

Both women would establish themselves as players in martial arts cinema in 1985’s Yes, Madam! …For Michelle Yeoh it was her first starring role after making her acting debut just a year earlier. For Cynthia Rothrock it was her first role PERIOD, having just left the world of competitive martial arts and making the move to Hong Kong to begin her acting career.

This week’s Scene of the Week showcases the fighting prowess of both Michelle Yeoh and Cynthia Rothrock, who play Inspector Ng and Inspector Carrie Morris respectively.
