Scene of the Week: The Last Boy Scout- Football is the Devil
It’s the most famous scene of the movie and it doesn’t feature either of the stars of the film! What the hell is going on here? Of course it had to happen in Cleveland. Land of the perennial loser Browns and squarely within the kingdom of Chris the Brain. Maybe he had something to do with this?
Billy Cole (Billy Blanks) was the last good chance for the LA Stallions. Down a touchdown with little time on the clock, any smart offensive coordinator is going to put the ball in the hands of his best playmaker. It just so happened that the best playmaker for the Stallions was Cole and he was what I would call a six tool player. That last tool, of course, being that pistol hiding in his belt. “Ain’t life a bitch” is right, Billy.
Need three reasons to watch The Last Boy Scout? 1) Directed by Tony Scott and written by Shane Black. Boom! 2) Bruce Willis is pretty much John McClane for most of the film and Halle Berry is crazy hot. Pow! 3) And it’s yet another film that falls into the Christmas Action category. KABOOM!
