Scene of the Week: “I’m Listening to the… Song!”
Hockey is a sport that has a variety of fans all over the world, but one thing most have in common is their love for the 1977 film Slap Shot. While I would only consider myself a perfunctory hockey fan I can agree that the look into the minor league hockey team in the 1970s is at the top of the hockey cinema pantheon. There are two main reasons I enjoy Slap Shot and the first is that Paul Newman is too cool for school no matter what film he is in and the second is the top notch enforcers, the Hanson Brothers.
This week’s Scene of the Week takes a look at what the Hanson Brothers do best, instigating and fighting, during the pregame skate around. You may question if fighting, and the Hanson Brothers, have a place in today’s modern hockey, but the one thing you can’t deny is the patriotism of those bespectacled boys.
