Scene of the Week: Happy Birthday Matthias!
Matthias Hues was born on February 14, 1959 in Waltrop, Germany and action fanatics (especially Timon Singh) know that Matthias Hues was born to be bad… at least in the movies.
From his first major role in No Retreat, No Surrender 2: Raging Thunder opposing Loren Avedon and Cynthia Rothrock, the hulking Matthias Hues found himself squaring off with action hero after action hero as his career progressed. There was Matthias vs. Dolph Lundgren in I Come in Peace (aka Dark Angel)… Matthias would battle Michael Worth in Fists of Iron… He would tangle with Don “The Dragon” Wilson in Blackbelt… And Matthias would duke it out with Jeff Wincott in Mission of Justice.
In Talons of the Eagle, Matthias Hues had the opportunity to go one on one with Billy Blanks as part of the movie’s big action finale. Bad guy Khan (Matthias Hues) fights dirty against the heroic Tyler (Billy Blanks), who relies solely on his martial arts skills. In honor of Matthias’ birthday we now share this epic fight scene with all our action fanatics as this week’s Scene of the Week…
