Scene of the Week: Ma-Ma’s Day?

Today is Mother’s Day here in the United States but it was not Ma-Ma’s day when Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) and his rookie partner Anderson (Olivia Thirlby) showed up at the Peach Trees high-rise slum to investigate a triple homicide at the futuristic complex.

Ma-Ma (Lena Headey) is a prostitute turned crime boss who rules Peach Trees with an iron fist, so it is really no surprise when she doesn’t take kindly to Dredd and Anderson coming on to her turf. In this week’s Scene of the Week we see one of Ma-Ma’s attempts to eliminate the law enforcement element from her building in one of the most memorable scenes from 2012’s Dredd as Ma-Ma’s gang shows off their impressive firepower and Dredd shows off some impressive survival skills…
