Bullet Points: Till Death
When we last checked in on Megan Fox, she was leading a team of mercenaries on a rescue mission in M.J. Bassett’s Rogue. Next up for Megan is S.K. Dale’s Till Death. What is up with Megan working with these directors with initials for a first name?
- Megan’s Game: The plot for Till Death will sound familiar to most of the you: Emma (Megan Fox) wakes up to find out she is handcuffed to her dead husband (Eoin Macken). To make matters even worse than they are, Emma is about to find herself in the middle of a home invasion. For her to survive, she must first figure out how to get the handcuffs off. I immediately think of Stephen King’s Gerald’s Game. Perhaps you have read the novel or watched the on-screen adaptation directed by Mike Flanagan? Is there a genre for movies where you are handcuffed to your dead spouse? Please let me know in the comments below.
- The Fox: At one time Megan Fox was the hottest actress on the planet. Now, she is filming movies in Bulgaria. I guess countries such as Bulgaria are the new ALMOST USA, CANADA. With Canada on lockdown for life due to COVID, filmmakers are forced to look for different locations to film their movies for a few less dollars. I do not know if Megan will make it back into Hollywood blockbusters. I do know she will next be seen in the BRUCE WILLIS movie, Midnight in the Switchgrass. You can bet I will be reviewing that one as well. Are you wondering how Megan is in Till Death? She is fine in more than one way. She does her thing. She has that look. She will always have an audience. Till Death is no Jennifer’s Body, so the Hollywood comeback will have to wait a bit longer.
- The Verdict: Till Death takes its sweet time to get going. The director spends so much time on this couple, only for us to not know what is going on. In my opinion, a lot of time was wasted on unnecessary events that have nothing to do with the flow of the film. I have a feeling a lot of the viewing audience will get bored waiting for the final 30 minutes. The final 30 minutes are heart pounding and loaded with excitement, but a lot of the screenplay is muggy. The story could have been structured more clearly. Thinking more as I write, I believe Megan Fox did as good as she could have done with the script given. The overall score of this film does not reflect her. She almost made lemonade out of a lemon. Till Death is a Redbox rental at best.
- Grade: C
