Scene of the Week: Lethal Weapon
This past week, the world lost Richard Donner, a true legend in the movie making game. Donner’s directorial work touched the lives of movie going fans for decades.
If you grew up in the 1980’s chances are Donner’s films like Superman, Ladyhawke and The Goonies were a part of your childhood. Donner’s first feature film, 1976’s The Omen, is still considered a horror classic. But for pure action fans, Donner’s greatest contribution to the genre was the Lethal Weapon series, a film franchise that made more than $900 million at the box office.
This week’s Scene of the Week looks back at 1987’s Lethal Weapon and the magic that Donner was able to expertly capture between Mel Gibson’s Martin Riggs and Danny Glover’s Roger Murtaugh.
