Bullet Points: Hell Hath No Fury
Hell Hath No Fury starring Nina Bergman is now available on digital, Blu-ray and DVD from Well Go USA. Let’s see what is up with director Jesse V. Johnson’s World War II actioner…
- The Plot: Towards the end of World War II, a woman (Nina Bergman) is at the center of a hunt for gold involving US Soldiers, Nazis and the French Resistance. Hell Hath No Fury also stars Daniel Bernhardt, Louis Mandylor, Timothy V. Murphy and Dominiquie Vandenberg. And as I stated earlier, is directed by Jesse V. Johnson.
- Familiar Faces: We tend to associate Jesse V. Johnson with Scott Adkins. This is true, they make a lot of movies together. However, Scott isn’t the only actor who makes a lot of movies with Jesse. Dominique Vandenberg was Jesse’s original muse, and most recently he was seen in Jesse’s The Mercenary. A film I called the “Surprise action flick of 2020”. Louis Mandylor’s Sue from The Debt Collector movies might be the coolest character in all of Jesse’s films. Both Dom and Louis play big roles in Hell Hath No Fury. Mix in the always wonderful Daniel Bernhardt and the “I know this guy’s face, but what is his name again?” character actor in Timothy V. Murphy, and you have yourself an extremely strong supporting cast that really helps the plot and pace of the movie. Let’s not forget the star, Nina Bergman. She holds her own with the boys. Together, this is one small but kickass cast.
- The Action: The action is Jesse V Johnson good. It is what you would expect to see. We have a lot of practical gun effects supervised by the most pro of professionals. Most of the action and most of the film takes place in a cemetery. You have close quarters fighting, knife fights and intense gun battles. What makes this movie more fun is the use of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” plot line, where people join forces to fight a greater evil. Expect a lot of badass action when you watch Hell Hath No Fury.
- Final Verdict: Hell Hath No Fury is exactly the type of movie I would expect from Jesse V. Johnson. If you are a fan, this is an easy recommendation. I do think the movie is a bit too predictable, but it is still a lot of fun. Daniel Bernhardt steals every scene he is in, and he only gets better with age. Hell Hath No Fury is an intensely exciting action movie.
