Scene of the Week: Under Siege – Seagal vs Tommy Lee
Say what you will about Steven Seagal (you people always do) but he is the master at killing people well beyond what is needed. Think back to the end of Marked for Death and let this video down below reinforce the fact that Seagal will absolutely kill the shit out of anyone.
Under Siege has been all over the social media platforms the past few days after it was announced that there would be a remake/reboot of the franchise. Normally, I am not a fan of remakes because most of them are trash and you just can’t do on film what they did 30 years ago. Plus, I can’t think of many actors who can fill the shoes of Steven Seagal’s Casey Ryback. The usual crowd will talk up Scott Adkins but he can only film so many movies in one year and Chris the Brain would probably pop a denim boner if his boy Alain Moussi got it. One would think that there has to be someone out there that can be this badass but deep down I just can’t help but think they’ll definitely take advantage of the name Casey and cast a woman. Of course, I have no problem with action films being lead by women, but if you’re gonna do that then just start your own franchise!
Either way, here is the finale of Under Siege. Is it possible that director Timo Tjahjanto can find villains as awesome as Gary Busey and Tommy Lee Jones? Probably not, but I’m still very interested in seeing just how great he can make the action. Let’s not forget, this is the man that gave us Headshot and The Night Comes for Us.
