Scene of the Week: “Nice Dance, Fancy Pants”

Sweetwater is a 2013 western starring January Jones, Ed Harris and Jason Issacs that kind of came and went.  It might be because westerns don’t hold the same interest they once did and partly because it is genuinely just an average movie. That is not to say the revenge story of a fanatical religious leader (Jason Issacs), a renegade Sheriff (Ed Harris) and a former prostitute (January Jones) does not make for an entertaining watch. There is plenty of action and acting throughout Sweetwater.

This week’s Scene of the Week takes a look at Ed Harris’ Sheriff Jackson dancing his version of “The Blue Danube” (so that song was famous before Squid Game?) and perfectly shows the eccentricities of the unique character. Seeing a mounted deer head and flying kick out of nowhere perfectly shows how Sweetwater likes to throw in a little violence into the mix.
