Scene of the Week: Hot Boyz
Some movies start off hot and quickly start to cool off… that is a polite way to describe Hot Boyz, a film written and directed by Master P and produced by PM Entertainment.
Now PM Entertainment had a great track record during their run, producing some of my favorite DTV action movies of all-time like To Be the Best, Recoil and T-Force.
Hot Boyz with its mix of action veterans (Gary Busey, C. Thomas Howell and Jeff Speakman) and rappers Snoop Dogg, Master P, Mystikal and Silkk the Shocker) did not quite hit. But it wasn’t all bad…
Hot Boyz got off to the aforementioned hot start, with Kool (Silkk the Shocker) jumping out a window and into his little red Corvette, then leading the police on a high speed (and destructive) chase that had action director Spiro Razatos’ fingerprints all over it and gave the movie at least one scene that was worth watching…
Movie is a hood classic. Sure the acting is bad especially with Silkk The Shocker but man it’s a fun ride.
