Scene of the Week: Enter the Ninja
1981’s Enter the Ninja played a big part of the ninja craze of the 1980s. It was one of the earliest signs that Cannon and action movies were a match made in heaven. And it introduced the world to the greatness of Shô Kosugi.
Enter the Ninja was not a movie I instantly fell in love with like its follow up, Revenge of the Ninja. I think a big part of that was the casting of Franco Nero as a ninja. Plus, what the hell was going on with his voice!? But once you get over that shock… Enter the Ninja really is a fun movie and one that I enjoy more with each rewatch… even the Italian Ninja himself, Franco Nero.
This week’s Scene of the Week features the final confrontation between Nero’s Cole (from Texas) and Shô Kosugi’s Hasegawa…
