Scene of the Week: Big Balls vs. Cupcake
Steven Seagal was born on April 10, 1952 in Lansing, Michigan. At the tender age of 7, Seagal would begin his journey into the world of martial arts. It was a journey that would find him eventually training in Japan for several years, coming back to the States where the student became the teacher as he instructed high falootin’ clientele in Los Angeles on the ways of Aikido and that’s when Seagal got on the Hollywood radar allowing him to burst on to the action movie scene with his name above the title.
In 1994, Seagal would use his fame and star power to deliver a message about oil pollution in his first (but not last) eco-warrior film, On Deadly Ground. His character even has an environmentally friendly name… Forrest!
In this week’s Scene of the Week, we see Forrest Taft deal with a loudmouth bully named Big Mike (Mike Starr, The Last Dragon) and some of his oil worker buddies at a bar. Sit back and enjoy as Forrest destroys plenty of property (keeping in line with action movie bar fight rules) and Big Mike’s ego…
