Scene of the Week: Deuce Droppin’
Wesley Snipes was born on July 31, 1962 in Orlando, Florida. Snipes’ acting career began in 1984 and he would find himself in supporting roles in a wide variety of projects throughout the 80s. But it was his star making performance in 1991’s New Jack City that really put Snipes on the map in Hollywood and the action world took notice.
Snipes headlined Passenger 57 and Boiling Point, he got to team up with Sean Connery in Rising Sun and go head to head with Sylvester Stallone in Demolition Man. Then in 1994, Snipes found himself in one of the handful of skydiving action movies that Hollywood was churning out at the time… Drop Zone co-starring Yancy Butler and Gary Busey.
In Drop Zone, Wesley Snipes as U.S. Marshal Terry Nessip must immerse himself in the world of skydiving in order to bring down a group of skydiving criminals led by a DEA agent gone rogue. As you would expect, Drop Zone is filled with spectacular sky diving action, but it still had some time for some good old fashioned, down and dirty fisticuffs too.
This week’s Scene of the Week spotlights Terry Nessip as he comes to the aid of his skydiving teammate Swoop (Kyle Secor) who is being assaulted in a men’s room. Watch as Terry drops Torski (Sam Hennings), Deputy Dog (Robert LaSardo) and Deuce (Mickey Jones) in a place where many have dropped a deuce…
