Ryan Shoots First: The Acolyte (S1 Ep7) “Choice”
You know what’s better than a penultimate episode? A penultimate episode that gives some answers! And this week on The Acolyte we finally get all the answers about what happened at the coven that faithful night.
This whole episode much like the previous one is all flashback set back but this time from the view of the Jedi and with a bit more detail on what exactly happened. Some of it was not what I expected and some of it was. But the big thing was the insight we get into Sol’s mindset throughout the events and how it relates to Indara who is trying to keep it all together. We also find out what the deal was with Torbin, and why Kelnaka was fighting him, we get it all! It was nice to see some more of Carie Ann-Moss’s character and how she seemed at first to be a pretty cool head but things went south fast. There also is this notion of what peacetime Jedi were like at the time. We see them collecting soil samples and just kinda chilling, clearly most if not all of them have never really faced something like this before and it showed once it all hit the fan. I did miss not getting a follow-up on what is going on inside The Master’s helmet on Osha’s head but we’ll find that out next week. Sadly the run time doesn’t seem to be any longer than normal which hampers my hype a bit. There is just only so much you can cram in and it feels like there is still so much story left to tell. I imagine we will get a big cliffhanger to end the finale which is interesting as as far as we know there is not a confirmed season 2.
So we didn’t exactly get a big cliffhanger in this penultimate episode but we did set the record straight on the inciting incident and head into the finale with everyone in different mindsets and the twins pulling their Parent Trap with the alternate masters. And perhaps the masters aren’t really as different as we thought.
