Agent 86 World Premiere this Friday
For the fast paced action thriller Agent 86 that hits cinemas in Tunisia on September 25, Producer/Director Bassem Khayati has assembled a cast and crew with one hell of a high impact martial arts action pedigree who have worked with everyone from Jackie Chan, Donnie Yen, Keanu Reeves, Jet Li, Iko Uwais, Tony Jaa, Wu Jing, Scott Adkins, Sammo Hung, Jean-Claude Van Damme and many more.
Agent 86 is a fast paced action thriller following an international Special Task Force that comes together to fight cross border drug trafficking after a devastatingly addictive drug named Devil’s Breath goes on sale in Hong Kong.
The driving force behind the movie Agent 86 is Tunisian Actor/Director Bassem Khayati, a veteran of several Jackie Chan movies including Dragon Blade with Adrian Brody, Kung Fu Panda, Vanguard, Hidden Strike with John Cena, and the upcoming Project P/Panda Plan. Khayati’s other credits include Outcasts with Nicholas Cage and Hayden Christenson, Abduction with Scott Adkins, and Fox Hunting with Eric Tsang. Khayati not only plays the Co-lead as Agent Dali, but also Produced and Directed the movie, which goes on theatrical release in Tunisia, later this month, with a global release set to follow over the next few months.
His Co-leads on the film include Tiger Chen, protégé of both Yuen Woo-ping and Keanu Reeves, the star of Reeves Man of Tai Chi and Triple Threat, has also appeared in The Matrix trilogy, Luc Besson’s Danny The Dog/Unleashed, Jet Li’s Fearless Directed by Ronny Yu, Kung Fu Man, and House of Fury, Chen plays Leo, a member of the Hong Kong team working to bring down the drug ring. Jingxu Wu who plays Emmy part of the Chinese Task Force has starred in numerous Chinese Film and TV projects including Be Somebody, The Faction, The Golden Trap, and Speed in the Wind.
Xiang Lianghue playing Lina part of the Hong Kong taskforce is a multitalented Actress, Singer and Producer who can be seen in everything from the recent China Top Arms: Mission Top Secret, Magic Seven with Eric Catona, Wu Jing’s sci-fi epic The Wandering Earth and George Nolfi’s Birth of the Dragon opposite Philip Ng.
Having been a member of the illustrious Jackie Chan Stuntman Team for more than 10 years, Temur Mamisashvili’s credits include everything from Herman Yau’s Moscow Mission, Jean-Claude Van Damme’s Pound of Flesh, as well as Dragon Blade, Renny Harlin’s Skiptrace, Hidden Strike, Kung Fu Yoga Bleeding Steel, The Foreigner, and the upcoming Project P/Panda Plan with Jackie Chan, where he plays the lead foreign villain. In Agent 86, Mamisashvili plays Gomez, a drug dealer with plans to break into the big time and the global drug trade.
Zhang Zhenwei burst onto the screen as the nemesis of Jaden Smith in The Karate Kid remake with Jackie Chan, and was the main fight/stunt double for Simu Liu in Shang Chi & The Legend of the 10 Rings, an Eighth Generation Member of the Jackie Chan Stunt Team, he can also be seen in Battle at Lake Tanjin and Hidden Strike.
The hulking presence that is Raphael, the film’s lead villain, an underworld Kingpin is played by British actor Kevin Lee, who can be seen in such project as Wu Jing’s Wolf Warrior, Super Me, SWAT, Battle at Lake Tanjin, The Teacher and Marco Polo.
Hong Kong based Industry Veteran Mike Leeder also serves as a Producer and Consultant on the film, having worked with many of the cast and crew on a variety of projects including Pound of Flesh, Abduction, Helios, Fearless, Man of Tai Chi and Triple Threat. According to Leeder, “Agent 86 tells an international story, about Law Enforcement from multiple countries working together to bring down the drug trade, the story is torn from the headlines, and we were lucky to be able to bring together such a solid Cast and Crew to work on this movie, and that’s because we all believed in Bassem and what he wants to do with this movie and future projects!’
Agent 86: The Movie receives its World Premiere in Tunisia on Sept 20th, before its theatrical release on Sept 25th, with an International release set to roll out over the next few months.
