Ryan Shoots First: Skeleton Crew (S1 Ep7) “We’re Gonna Be In So Much Trouble”
After last weeks stand out episode of Skeleton Crew we have reached the penultimate episode and Jod gets even darker. Last episode saw the kids apply everything they have learned over the season to escape certain death and receive their very own ship in the process. This week the journey home continues but without their estranged pirate father on their tail. Jod took a hard turn from the typical Star Wars Adoptive dad we’ve seen so many times. This week he makes maybe his darkest turn yet as his goals are just right there for the taking. We didn’t get a Jod Order 66 flashback either he is just subverting all the assumptions!
With only the finale to go you would be shocked to hear this episode ends in a cliffhanger and quite a bit to unpack before the final episode. This one gives us a little more about the mystery of At-Attin but nothing stated. Everything is piecing together the brief revelations we get but you can start to piece some things together. My guess is the “Supervisor” will be revealed next week with a big reveal.
I will be sad to see this show go and so far Mando has been the only series to get a second series (Andor 2 is coming and Ahsoka in production) but it seems to get to that Season 2 is a certain bar. I have not seen what the streaming numbers have been but this series apparently was cheap to produce and the audience reactions is very positive so we will see if they have any story left to tell or if they get folded into the Mando movie or something. Either way counting down to finale time!
