Bullet Points: Jade (2025)
You can always count on the fine folks over at Well Go USA to provide a steady stream of action movies all year long. Their latest action offering is 2025’s Jade starring Shaina West, and action legends, Mickey Rourke and Mark Dacascos…

- Backstory: The movie starts with some narration giving us the background on the titular character, Jade. After her parents were killed in London, Jade and her brother traveled all the way to New Mexico to start a new life… but they eventually find themselves running with a gang led by Ortiz. Worse, Jade ends up accidentally shooting and killing her own brother, leaving Jade disenchanted with the gang way of life and never wanting to fire a gun again.

- Little Black Box: When we first see Jade (Shaina West, The Killer’s Game) pays a visit to her friend Layla (Katherine McNamara). Layla was dating Jade’s brother and is now carrying is unborn child. After her visit, Layla heads back home when fellow gang member pulls up on her, joking pointing a gun at her before handing her a hard drive that ends up being the point of contention for the rest of the movie. It doesn’t take long for Jade to find out how in demand this little black really is. Jade wisely stashes the hard drive when she has an opportunity, but that doesn’t stop her from being knocked out by a baseball bat and waking up to see her “buddy” Logan being beaten and interrogated with a hammer, by goons that work for Tork (Mickey Rourke, Point Blank).

- Big Trouble: Jade manages to escape, but her trouble has only just begun… Tork isn’t about to give up his pursuit and he’s not afraid to use Layla as leverage, there’s also cops that may or may not be cops, and then there’s Ortiz and his gang expecting Jade to fall in line. Jade does get some help from an old familiar face, Interpol Agent Reese (Mark Dacascos, Only the Strong), but will he be enough in this game of high stakes who can you trust!?!?!
There were a few moments where Jade was starting to lose my interest, and there was some shaky cam moments, which I know is a hot button issue for some action aficionados. But to her credit Shaina West’s Jade kept pulling me back in… she is a total badass and the movie provides her with plenty of cannon fodder to showcase just how badass she is as she takes out her foes in a variety of ways.
Jade also makes great use of action legends, Mickey Rourke and Mark Dacascos. I would have liked a little more Dacascos screentime, but Director James Bamford does maximize the minutes of both Dacascos and Rourke reminding us that sometimes less is more.
Jade will be available on Digital on Tuesday February 18th from our friends at Well Go USA Entertainment. A physical media release will follow on April 8th!
These Bonus Bullet Points are available right now…
- Familiar Quote: “Always bet on black!” – Jade delivering an homage to Wesley Snipes in Passenger 57.
- Bastard Count: There was one “bastard” courtesy of Jade. I would like to mention that “bastard” said with a British accent always classes it up.
- Quality Insult: “Discount Brad Pitt”
- The Name Game: Not to be confused with 1995’s Jade starring David Caruso and Linda Fiorentino.
