Ryan Shoots First: Secret Invasion (Ep4) “Beloved”
“Fury has to make some sacrifices”, ruh roh! Things following last week aren’t looking so good for the super spy and his team. Talos’ daughter is made and shot, Fury’s shapeshifting wife is up to some stuff and he is about out of cards to play. Something tells me he always has something else up his sleeve though.
“Beloved” starts the final three episodes till the finale and that means next week is the penultimate episode! But for now Fury needs to reset and come up with a plan. This episode definitely kicks the action back up after last week was largely a performance, tension filled episode as we end on a grand shootout with the president at the center.
We also finally learn what Talos’s grand plan is to find a home for his people and it is essentially what Professor X tried in X2. Hey if we save the President then reveal ourselves they’ll be super cool sharing their planet! This does kinda point at one reason I always thought the X-men struggle to fit into a universe with the rest of marvel though. If this world has seen super heroes, hulks, and Thanos and all kinds of crazy things would they really be completely thrown off by aliens that essentially look just like humans in make up? To compare to X Men would humans really care to hate people with powers in a world where they celebrate heroes? It’s hard for the two to occupy the same space. Kinda a tangent but something tells me with the things the MCU world has seen some green aliens won’t break the world.
Anyway the Skrulls are no less a serious threat and with Gravik flexing his super Skrull powers Fury is gonna really need to dig deep to find an answer without calling for some help. I’m not even sure whose number he still has.
