Tough Chicks: Eve Torres
I’ve written about The Scorpion King 4: Quest for Power once before and on two separate occasions I’ve mentioned my admiration for Ellen Hollman, but I’ve yet to bring up what was probably the best scene from The Scorpion King 4 in much detail. It’s a scene that I’m going to call Lady Thunderdome!
Eve Torres is a former WWE Diva, that means that she was a female wrestler, having trained for several years and performed in front of millions of fans. Like other professional wrestlers before her, she has somewhat recently made the transition into movies and television. During her career in the WWE, Eve had never quite had what I would consider a “Hall of Fame run” in professional wrestling but she definitely showed improvement over the years and at the time of her retirement from the ring she had held the Divas Championship three times. Her 2014 marriage to Rener Gracie has given her an opportunity to become a legit badass as she’s attained a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as well as trained extensively in kickboxing.
As I said earlier, the fight scene featuring Eve and Ellen from The Scorpion King 4 delivered where many all female fights don’t. Eve brings a few wrestling maneuvers to the brawl and Ellen holds her own against what I can only assume was a more dominant athlete like Eve Torres.
