Ryan Shoots First: The Bad Batch (S3 Ep8) “Bad Territory”
This week on The Bad Batch, Wrecker and Hunter meet up with an old adversary to try and get to the bottom of just why the empire wants Omega. That adversary is none other than the Bounty Hunter Fennec who yes is still wearing that one outfit. As you may imagine the info will not come cheap so the Batch are forced to do a job for Fennec to get the info they need.
One thing that seems to be constant is the way the show is terribly dark. And I don’t mean in subject matter but in practicality. It seems to be a common thing with Disney+ in general but this show specifically is almost impossible to see. On my projector screen, I have to turn off all the lights to even be able to faintly see what’s going on. Something other apps do not have the same issue with.
But back to the episode, it was nice to see Hunter and Wrecker get back to a regular mission, Wrecker specifically I feel has been sidelined going back to even last season. His munitions and explosions expertise hasn’t played much into the story lately but it was key to the success of this mission. And yes, there is more monster battles cause it ain’t a Batch episode without fighting some flora and fauna.
Observations
- Haha, the look Crosshair has for Omega
- The hunter becomes the hunted!
- Well that was easy
- It’s been too long since Wrecker blew something up.
- This show is so visibly dark.
- Haxion Brood name-drop!
- Because of course, there is something in the water.
- Leverage is a powerful thing in Star Wars
- Omega got her clothes from Hondo’s closet.
- That a boy Wrecker I feel he hasn’t gotten a lot of shine lately
- Fennec routinely calling Hunter “Tracker” is peak pettiness.
- I’m glad to see the praying mantis things get a bigger focus.
- Crosshair with inner peace? Look out!
- Fennec’s ship is pretty dope
