Tough Chicks: Jennifer Garner – Daredevil
After the recent introduction of Elektra Natchios into the Marvel Cinematic Universe during the second season of Daredevil, I began to think back to our first glimpses of the Greek beauty on the big screen opposite Ben Affleck’s Daredevil.
For some, it was a first look at the beautiful and athletic Jennifer Garner. For others, it was a first taste of the martial artist and assassin known as Elektra. No matter how familiar fans were with either Garner or Elektra, it was almost certainly the first time they heard of Evanescence.
(WAKE ME UP) WAKE ME UP INSIDE! (CAN’T WAKE UP) WAKE ME UP INSIDE! (SAVE ME)
You know the rest.
I remember seeing Daredevil in theaters in what I believe was either late fall or early winter of 2002. It was my first year in college. My roommates and I grabbed some dinner, caught the movie at the local theater, and then spent the rest of the night complaining about just how bad it was. But after most of the complaining had ended and we had searched online for that wonderful soundtrack (no iTunes back then), we were all browsing the internet in search of scantily clad photos of Jennifer Garner.
I was just a young pup then but even at my young age I could still diagnose a hottie when I saw one. Garner had the strong, athletic, and sexy build. I had never really seen much of her work in the television show Alias but it must have been pretty good if it launched her career in the way that it did. You’re more likely to see Garner on the cover of US Weekly or in a credit card commercial these days but they’ll never be able to take away that moment that we shared. That moment in the rain when I awkwardly brushed my hand across your face as the gentle and soothing sounds of Evanescence played in the background.
