Scene of the Week: Jeff Wincott Gets His Sh*t Together
In the 1992 movie Deadly Bet, Jeff Wincott’s character Angelo hits rock bottom. Angelo has a serious gambling problem. Making that problem worse is the fact that Angelo and his girlfriend Isabella (Charlene Tilton) live in Las Vegas. Angelo’s gambling issues are so bad that he actually puts his girlfriend up in a bet and when he loses, his girl ends up “the property” of his rival Rico (Steven Vincent Leigh).
So Angelo has lost his girl, he owes money to some dangerous people and he foolishly tries to drink his problems away. As I said, Angelo hits rock bottom. But fortunately for movie characters their lives can be changed over the course of one song. Angelo cleans up his dirty habits. Angelo cleans up his diet. He even cleans up his home over the course of the song “Right Side of Zero” by Darryl Purpose. If only real life were so easy…
