Damsels: Julia – Mission Impossible 3
Michelle Monaghan is just coming off the heels of the very successful and amazing HBO series True Detective. It was because of that I decided to go back and re-visit the 2006 Cruise-tastic Mission Impossible 3! Monaghan has always been one of the actresses that I didn’t find too particularly attractive in Hollywood terms but I thought looked very average. Not to say that she wouldn’t turn some heads on the street but she just didn’t strike me as remarkably gorgeous like some other starlets. Having said that, she is a sight to see at times and she does a fine job playing the love interest of one of our favorite American super spies, Ethan Hunt.
Julia is the woman that Ethan Hunt loves most in the world. For as long as he can remember Ethan has had a secret so important that no one could get close enough to him that might make him compromise what he does. That was until he met Julia. Julia is a nurse who has Ethan so charmed that it makes him give up his job as a secret agent working with IMF and become a trainer for the agency. Ethan is still unable to tell Julia what he does but a cleverly designed career hides the fact that he still works for IMF. That is until his first protégé is captured and Ethan must attempt to save her. He is dragged deeper into a rabbit hole that threatens not only his life, but also the life of the woman that he has now married, Julia. The question is, when her life is on the line, will he be able to let her in on his secret, or will he choose the agency and the only life he has ever known?
She wouldn’t be a damsel if she didn’t get a gun pointed at her head at some point.
“Shoulda pulled the trigger, asshole.”
