Scene of the Week: L.A. Takedown Bank Robbery and Gunfight
If Michael Mann can do it so can I. That’s what you call a hook ladies and gentleman. You are probably dying to know what Michael Mann did and now what I am doing. Why simply giving you the same thing you already had and pretending it is new. Many action film aficionados lose their shit over Mann’s 1995 film Heat. And rightfully so, it is an unforgettable action film with unforgettable actors. Our very own Chad Cruise presented the Heat Bank Robbery and Gunfight as a Scene of the Week. How many of you knew that Mann’s 1989 L.A. Takedown was the original version of Heat and that it has its own Bank Robbery and Gunfight scene?
Overall, Heat beats L.A. Takedown in pretty much every aspect, but this week’s Scene of the Week can hold its own as a thrilling action packed scene that if you have seen Heat you will find very familiar. So like I said, if Michael Mann can create a remake that is superior to the original, so can I.
