Scene of the Week: A Most Excellent Mall Scene
Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure is one of the smartest films about dumb people and it truly has something for everyone to enjoy. Fans of history will get a kick out of the historical figures as we get to see them both with their contemporaries in the past but also interacting in a contemporary setting. Fans of humor will get a kick of just how stupid Bill and Ted are, but both are totally good-natured, and does it get any better than having one of the greatest comedians of all time in George Carlin. There are stars from action films like Keanu Reeves (John Wick), Alex Winter (Death Wish 3), and Al Leong. You also want a famous musician? How about Jane Wiedlen from The Go-Go’s? With the combination of action, comedy and music, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure is pretty much the most excellent movie.
This week’s Scene of the Week takes a look at a stand out scene from Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure that features all three aspects that make the movie shine. Action fans will love to see Al Leong going all Genghis Khan with the help of a sporting goods store. Music fans can listen to Beethoven rocking out on the keyboard and Jane Wiedlen’s Joan of Arc dancing like a maniac. And comedy fans will be treated to a historical slapstick chase through the mall with Abe Lincoln, Sigmund Freud, Billy the Kid and Socrates. Party on, dudes!
